When it comes to the date for each of the events that involve everything related to baseball on the island, there is always a dose of suspense.
Now the National Baseball Commission (CNB for its Spanish acronyms) informed that it decided to postpone the Awards Gala corresponding to the 61st edition of the National Series. This was made known in his social network profiles by journalist Hernández Luján, who quoted the note published by the organization:
“The National Baseball Commission informs that it has been decided to postpone the Cuban Baseball Gala corresponding to the 61st National Series.
“Initially scheduled for this August 6 in the city of Bayamo, home of the champions Alazanes de Granma, it will now be held in the same venue in the prelude to the First Elite League of Cuban Baseball.
“The purpose of making it a great party for our athletes and fans is maintained as a premise of the organizational work underway.”
This is how the note from the federation summarized.
The athletes and teams enrolled in the All-Star awards (not without controversy), referees and directors of the teams will have to wait for the start of the new Elite League, which, by the way, gave names to all the teams far from those requested by the people after a national survey.
