Dyan Jorge is the 15th prospect on the MLB Pipeline list for the international signing period that becomes official this January 15. As we anticipated in an interview with Dyan last January 2021, Jorge stamped his signature along with that of the Colorado Rockies and his professional dream will begin.
The 18-year-old from Havana has great defensive skills and it is anticipated that if he can improve his batting power he will become a Major League in no time. He is compared to great Cuban shortstops like Alexei Ramírez or Adeiny Hechavarría but this, according to what he says, does not pressure him.
It was surprising that in the last period of international signings his agreement with the Rockies for 2.8 million dollars was not made official, but this was because the organization did not have the money available and needed to delay it to 2022.
